Emily Stern Joins Katten as Partner in Litigation Practice

Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP is pleased to announce that Emily Stern has joined the firm’s New York office focusing on litigation and dispute resolution.

“Emily has broad experience litigating complex civil disputes and white collar criminal and regulatory matters so she will be a great addition to Katten’s Litigation Practice,” said Vincent A.F. Sergi, Katten’s National Managing Partner.

Stern’s experience includes consumer and securities fraud actions, shareholder derivatives suits, complex contract and licensing disputes involving pharmaceuticals, medical devices, entertainment and telecommunications, products liability claims, partnership disputes and matters involving post-employment restrictions.

She counsels clients through government and internal investigation and has defended them in matters before federal and state prosecutors and regulators.  Stern has particular expertise with the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, and defends enforcement actions, handles investigations and provides risk assessment and compliance counseling.

Stern was most recently with the firm Proskauer Rose LLP where she was Senior Counsel in the Litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution Department and the Corporate Defense and Investigations practice.

Additionally, Stern clerked for the Honorable Sidney H. Stein, United States District Court Judge for the Southern District of New York.

Before entering the field of law, Stern was a professional modern dance performer for more than a decade.
