McKenna Long & Aldridge LLP Expands Litigation Department

McKenna Long & Aldridge LLP (MLA) announced today that Peter A. Cross, a commercial litigator with more than 35 years of experience, has joined the firm as a partner in its New York office.  Cross’ practice encompasses business arbitration and mediation and entertainment and media law.

“We are excited to have Peter join us in our New York office,” commented MLA Litigation Department Chair Tami Azorsky. “He brings a wealth of litigation experience representing a variety of industries in trials, arbitrations and mediations.”
Cross focuses on representing companies and individuals in resolving disputes arising from the sale, acquisition, financing and operation of businesses in a wide variety of industries including manufacturing, real estate, media and sales and distribution.   He has represented clients in cleanup and litigation proceedings under the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA or Superfund), as well as efforts to obtain and apportion insurance coverage for environmental damage and remediation expenses.   He also has substantial experience in fire, explosion and landslide litigation and is a member of the Propane Gas Defense Association. Cross has been a member of the mediation panel of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of NY for over 15 years and has also conducted private mediations of business disputes.
Additionally, Cross has represented writers, artists, producers, filmmakers and others in a wide variety of entertainment and media law matters.   For the past several years he has worked with the Chinese Consulate in New York, the Ministry of Culture in China and various organizations in the U.S. and China to bring Chinese entertainment to the U.S. and vice versa.
Cross earned a J.D. from New York University School of Law and a B.A. from Fordham College.
