On October 14, an international team of Winston & Strawn attorneys, led by partners Bill Grant and Terry Brady, closed the biggest merger in hedge fund history.
UK-based Man Group plc, the world’s largest listed hedge fund manager, acquired US-based GLG Partners, Inc., a global asset management company, for $1.6 billion. Winston represented the special committee of independent GLG directors in negotiating the transaction on behalf of the public shareholders of GLG and defending the deal before courts in New York and Delaware.
