Loeb & Loeb LLP announced today that Michael Grandis has joined the firm’s New York office as a partner in the Corporate Department, bringing with him nearly 15 years of experience, primarily in the areas of public and private mergers and acquisitions, venture capital and private equity financings, as well as corporate governance counseling. Most recently, he was a partner in the Corporate and Commercial Practice at Ingram Yuzek Gainen Carroll & Bertolotti, LLP in New York.

“Michael is a smart and ambitious attorney with the right mix of transactional and industry expertise that will make him a great addition to our corporate team,” said Loeb & Loeb Chairman Michael D. Beck. “We are very pleased to welcome him to the firm.”

Grandis’ practice focuses on corporate transactional work and he serves in a general counsel role, as management advisor and contract negotiator, for several middle market companies. In addition to mergers and acquisitions, venture capital and private equity investments, his experience includes divestitures, mezzanine debt transactions, joint ventures, recapitalizations and financings. His practice also includes intellectual property and licensing matters, employment agreements, complex commercial deals, corporate governance and other day-to-day general corporate matters. In addition, Grandis counsels a variety of professional services firms in connection with ownership transition issues, restructuring, management succession and financing, and provides general business advisory services.

Grandis handles domestic and international transactions for clients in a broad array of industries, including technology, real estate, health care, financial services, energy, entertainment and media, logistics, internet gaming, advertising, fashion and apparel, camping and recreation, restaurants and telecommunications.

“Michael’s solid track record handling complex middle market deals in several of our core industry sectors makes him a valuable addition as we look to strengthen our bench in a highly competitive marketplace,” said David S. Schaefer, chair of Loeb & Loeb’s Corporate Department.

Grandis added: “I am thrilled to join Loeb & Loeb, a firm with a strong national platform, greater resources and broader expertise in areas of practice important to my diverse client base. This is a great strategic opportunity for me that I think will be an appropriate fit for my practice. I look forward to working with the team.”

Admitted to the bars in New York and New Jersey, Grandis earned his J.D. from Columbia University and his B.S. from Georgetown University.

An avid sports fan and community supporter, Grandis serves on the board of Urban Dove, a sports-based recreational non-profit dedicated to enriching the lives of at-risk youth in New York City. He is also Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Urban Dove Charter School, a New York City charter transfer high school, which utilizes a sports-based youth development curriculum to support a highly at-risk student population.
