Davis Polk advised New Colt Holding Corp. on its acquisition by Colt Defense LLC. Financial terms of the transaction, which closed on July 12, 2013, were not disclosed.
New Colt Holding is the parent holding company of Colt’s Manufacturing Company LLC, a leading firearms manufacturer founded in 1836 and headquartered in Hartford, Connecticut. Colt Defense was split off from Colt’s Manufacturing Company in 2002, after which Colt’s Manufacturing Company focused on the civilian market, while Colt Defense focused on the military and law enforcement markets.
