The international law firm Greenberg Traurig LLP, has added shareholder David Oppenheim to its New Jersey and New York offices. Oppenheim’s practice will focus on franchising, transactional and regulatory matters.
Listed by U.S. News Media Group and Best Lawyers® as New York’s 2013 “Franchise Lawyer of the Year,” Oppenheim concentrates his practice on domestic and international franchising, licensing and distribution matters. He advises both emerging and mature companies with respect to planning, structuring and implementing national and international franchise, distribution and licensing programs and routinely counsels clients regarding the implementation of compliance programs and system-wide standards. He also advises franchise clients regarding complex franchise relationship issues and disputes, and represents clients in arbitration, mediation and litigation involving franchise, trademark, contract and commercial disputes. Additionally, Oppenheim has substantial experience in mergers and acquisitions and sophisticated financing transactions. He represents private equity firms and corporate clients concerning the acquisition of franchise, licensing and distribution assets as well as the securitization of franchisor royalty streams.

Oppenheim is also the immediate past Chair of the Franchise Licensing & Distribution Law Committee and the current Second Vice-Chair of the Executive Committee of the Business Law Section of the New York State Bar Association
