Polsinelli Bolsters Business Litigation Practice with New Shareholder Mozianio

Am Law 100 firm Polsinelli welcomes attorney Mozianio “Trey” S. Reliford, III, as a shareholder in the firm’s growing Nashville office. Reliford joins the firm’s Litigation Department, bringing a deep background in business disputes and securities litigation, expanding the firm’s white collar capabilities, and adding new experience in entertainment law. Reliford comes to the firm from Neal & Harwell PLC in Nashville.

Reliford leverages his creativity, his experience litigating in many jurisdictions, and his knowledge of the courts to provide industry-specific litigation strategies for a myriad of clients from Music City and across the nation. He has extensive experience in every facet of litigation from early assessment and injunctions, to mediation and settlement, to trials and arbitrations.

“With his diverse industry experience, Trey brings a relevant and timely perspective to our Commercial Litigation Practice,” said Polsinelli Litigation Department Chair, Farah Nicol. “His talent as an accomplished litigator and his broad experience aligns perfectly with Polsinelli’s strengths in serving clients within our business and securities practices. Our clients will reap the rewards of his perspective and creative approach to tackling the most challenging of issues. We look forward to the immediate impact Trey will make, not only in Nashville, but across the U.S.”

As a complement to Polsinelli’s strong commitment to pro bono service, Reliford has also built his practice around positively impacting his community. He was named a Tennessee Supreme Court Attorney for Justice in 2019-2021. And, he has served as pro bono counsel in a variety of cases concerning voting rights, qualified immunity, access to education, immigration and asylum, and criminal justice reform.

Reliford volunteers and serves in various leadership roles in numerous civic and professional organizations including Conexión Américas, The 100 Black Men of Middle Tennessee, Legal Aid Society of Middle Tennessee & the Cumberlands, Southern Word, the Tennessee Alliance for Black Lawyers, the Napier-Looby Bar Association, and the Nashville Bar Association Young Lawyers Division. He has also served as Adjunct Professor of Pre-Trial Litigation at Vanderbilt University Law School.

“I am energized to bring my practice and experience to Polsinelli, where I look forward to collaborating with leading business litigation attorneys across Polsinelli’s national footprint and delivering for our clients.” said Reliford. “Polsinelli’s culture and established Business Litigation Practice both impressed and attracted me to the firm. The firm’s energy is palpable, and I believe this combined with its widespread practice areas are a great fit for me and my clients. I’m beyond excited to be a part of the Polsinelli team.”

“Trey is a great addition to our growing team in the Nashville office,” said John Peterson, Polsinelli shareholder in the business litigation practice and Managing Partner of the Nashville office. “I know he will thrive in our culture, and he brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the practice and the firm.”
