K&L Gates Continues Growth of IP Practice with Munich Partner Addition

Global law firm K&L Gates LLP welcomes intellectual property procurement and portfolio management partner Dr. Bojan Savic in the Munich office. He joins K&L Gates from Jones Day.

Savic has more than 20 years of experience advising on many aspects of patent prosecution, including patent grant proceedings, opposition and appeal proceedings, patent nullity and patent infringement, the preparation of patent portfolios, due diligence, and other strategic issues. He assists clients in the life sciences, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, and chemistry sectors, including having represented several major pharmaceutical clients in cross-border patent disputes.

K&L Gates’ intellectual property procurement and portfolio management practice has more than 200 lawyers, including approximately 100 registered patent lawyers, agents, and technology specialists with technical or advanced science degrees – nearly 20 with doctorates – who devote their practices to helping clients establish, enforce, and leverage their intellectual property rights worldwide. Together, these lawyers seamlessly work for clients in creating, developing, and leveraging patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, and other rights to protect intellectual property assets as valuable business assets. As one of the leading IP firms, K&L Gates filed nearly 3,000 patent applications worldwide and 2,200 trademarks in 2017.

Savic’s arrival helps strengthen the firm’s newly launched European Patent Office (EPO) practice and follows the recent additions of IP litigation partners Susan Kayser in Washington, D.C., and C.J. Fahy in Chicago.
