Baker & McKenzie Advises Aer Rianta International cpt on the Sale of Aerofirst Shares

Baker & McKenzie advised Aer Rianta International cpt (ARI), an Irish state-owned travel retail company, on the sale of its 33.3% shareholding in Aerofirst, the Moscow-based airport retail operation, to Arial, ARI’s fellow shareholder in Aerofirst, which owns the remaining 66.6% stake.

Aerofirst operates duty free and duty paid shops in Terminals D and F of Moscow’s Sheremetyevo Airport and also manages inflight retail aboard Aeroflot and Transaero flights. Advice given to ARI included turn-key sell-side M&A assistance and preparation and negotiation of transactional documents.

The Baker & McKenzie team was led by Moscow associate Sergey Krokhalev with key input from associates Robert Gray, Nadia Goreslavskaya, Natalia Tataru and Ksenia Kolchina.

Aer Rianta International cpt is one of the world’s longest-established and most successful travel retail companies. ARI designs, manages and operates duty free and duty paid airport retail outlets in Europe, the Middle East, North America, India and China. In 2011, the company managed turnover of over USD1 billion and employed over 3,500 people worldwide.
