Matthew Bielen Joins Holland & Knight’s Growing Private Equity Team in Miami

Private Equity and M&A lawyer Matthew Bielen has joined Holland & Knight as a Partner in Miami. He was previously a Partner with McDermott Will & Emery. He also practiced with Kirkland & Ellis in San Francisco in the past.

“Matthew is a great fit for our growing team,” said David Barkus, co-leader of the firm’s South Florida Corporate Practice and national head of the firm’s Private Equity Team. “He has outstanding private equity transactional experience, especially in the healthcare industry, and a talent for leading complex deals for highly regarded firms. Lawyers with Matthew’s skillset and connections are rare. His arrival will immediately add strength to our private equity and healthcare teams.”

Mr. Bielen focuses his practice on domestic and cross-border mergers, acquisitions, recapitalizations, direct investments, joint ventures and the related financings required to fund such transactions. His transactional and business counseling clients include private equity funds, public and private companies, business owners, executives and family offices.

Mr. Bielen received a J.D. degree from The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law and a B.A. degree from Franklin & Marshall College. He is admitted to practice in Florida, the District of Columbia, California, England and Wales.
