Former SoftBank Legal Partner Enrique Conde Joins Holland & Knight’s Corporate Team

Enrique Conde has joined Holland & Knight in Miami as a partner in the Corporate, M&A and Securities and Latin America Practice groups. He was previously a partner in the legal department of SoftBank Group International and deputy general counsel of the SoftBank Latam Fund, a $5 billion fund devoted to technology investments in the region.

“I have known and admired Enrique for nearly 20 years. He is a wonderful person with outstanding contacts, legal and business skills, and experience,” said David Barkus, co-leader of the firmwide Corporate Practice. “Enrique is the kind of partner we seek out to join our firm. We are fortunate to have the opportunity to add Enrique to our rapidly growing domestic and international transactional practices.”

“Enrique is an incredibly talented transactional attorney who also gives back considerably to the community,” said Wifredo Ferrer, executive partner of Holland & Knight’s Miami office. “He is also a consummate team player, which is an important quality for lawyers at Holland & Knight. I have no doubt that he will be extremely successful here.”

Mr. Conde represents U.S. and international clients, including private equity funds and public and private companies in domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, corporate financings, joint ventures and all types of general contractual matters throughout the U.S., Latin America, Europe and Asia. He has handled significant representations in various industries that have facilitated foreign investment into countries and regions resulting in significant social and economic impact, including telecommunication availability, energy and infrastructure projects.

“My time at SoftBank gave me great strategic insight about the technology sector in Latin America and beyond,” said Mr. Conde. “I’m looking forward to using the knowledge I gained, and my 15-plus years of law firm experience, to help grow the domestic and international transactional practices at Holland & Knight, where I have many good friends and former colleagues.”

“I would also like to thank my mentor, Patricia Menendez-Cambo, for her leadership, guidance and support throughout my career, including at SoftBank,” he added. “Patty’s mentorship has played a crucial role in my development as an attorney.”

Mr. Conde earned a J.D. degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, a certificate in business and public policy from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, and a B.A. degree from the University of Pennsylvania. He is admitted to practice law in Florida and New York, and is fluent in English and Spanish.
