Mark S. Scott Joins Holland & Knight’s Corporate and International Groups

Holland & Knight is pleased to announce that Mark S. Scott has joined the firm’s Miami office as a partner in its Corporate and International Practice Groups.

Mr. Scott practices in the area of corporate law, both domestically and internationally, representing clients in corporate structuring and business planning, private equity, investment funds, mergers and acquisitions, and private placements. His clients include middle-market and startup companies in industries including life sciences, telecommunications, real estate and healthcare.

A native speaker of German, Mr. Scott represents German and other European companies entering the U.S. market, as well as U.S. and international companies in general cross-border work in the United States and in Europe. Mr. Scott was formerly a partner with Duane Morris in Miami. He is also a former partner with K&L Gates LLP, where he spent time in their Frankfurt and Berlin offices.

“Florida is a key component of many of my international clients’ business plans because of its strong Latin America ties and position as a hub for increased international trade,” said Mr. Scott. “Holland & Knight’s deep roots and broad platform in the state — especially its strength in South Florida — will give my clients an important advantage in the future.”

“Mark Scott is a great fit for our corporate group,” said Rod Bell, Holland & Knight’s South Florida Corporate practice group leader. “Not only is Mark an impressive attorney, he brings a European focus that will nicely complement our existing U.S. and Latin American deal experience.”

Mr. Scott serves on the board of directors of the Crystal Academy, a Coral Gables-based center dedicated to early and intense therapy for children diagnosed with autism and related developmental delays. He is also active on the board of Dolphin Aid, an international organization that helps give special needs children access to dolphin therapeutic facilities.
