Foley Adds Transactional & Securities Attorney Robert Q. Lee

Foley announced today that Robert Q. Lee has joined the firm as a partner in the firm’s Orlando and Miami offices, where he will be a part of the Transactional & Securities, China and Latin America Practices. Prior to joining Foley, Lee was a partner with Diaz, Reus & Targ, LLP.

Lee focuses his practice on the representation of public, private and emerging growth companies in corporate and commercial matters, mergers, asset and stock acquisitions and divestitures, reorganizations and roll-ups, business start-ups, securities offerings, indentures, bond issues, corporate governance, private equity and mezzanine financing, securitizations, equipment financing, secured transactions, supplier and distribution agreements, technology licensing, servicing agreements, and franchising. Earlier in his career, Lee served as interim in-house counsel and outside corporate counsel for subsidiaries of General Electric and has provided support for Siemens’ corporate and real estate legal divisions.

“Robert’s experience in a wide variety of corporate and financing matters will offer immediate value to our clients with complex transactions in the United States and across the globe,” said David Sanders, co-chair of Foley’s Transactional & Securities Practice. “His strong track record representing companies, lenders, issuers and other parties in numerous transactions and experience working closely with companies as an outside corporate counsel is a terrific complement to our practice.”

Lee also advises on cross-border transactions and investments, particularly relating to Latin America and Asia Pacific, specifically in the China and Hong Kong regions. His experience in this area includes reverse mergers with U.S. publicly traded entities, project financing, corporate reorganizations, power generations projects and other corporate matters. Lee has also represented major banks, governmental lending agencies and other lending groups in the areas of financing and secured lending and has counseled companies, developers, investment funds and major landowners in commercial real estate matters.

“We are thrilled to welcome Robert to our talented team of attorneys in Florida,” said Michael Gay, managing partner of Foley’s Orlando office. “We look forward to leveraging his vast capabilities as we continue to strengthen and grow the services we provide to clients.”

Lee has served as a board member of several organizations, including the Hong Kong Association of Florida and Latin America, the Metro Orlando International Affairs Commission, and the Asian-American Chamber of Commerce (Miami and Orlando). He was named to Florida Trend Magazine’s list of Florida Legal Elite in 2011 and was also recognized as “The Strategist” on the “ALB Hot 100: The Hottest Lawyers of 2009” by Asian Legal Business Magazine, as well as on the “Hot 25 2009: The Legal High Flyers of the Year” by ALB China Magazine.
