George Haros Joins DWF to Bolster Employment Offering

George Haros moves from Macpherson Kelley and brings with him a team of six, including senior associates William Marshall, Christina Tsakiris and Michael Harty. The appointment comes at a time of rapid expansion for global legal business DWF which continues to broaden its sector and service capabilities across Australia.

George’s appointment closely follows the appointment of industry veteran, Alex Ninis, who also joined from Macpherson Kelley in March with two of his team members, and enhances DWF’s commercial law offering in technology law.

Commenting on the announcement, DWF Asia Pacific Chairman Mark Hickey said: “DWF is well known within the industry and by its clients for its commitment to providing excellent service and it is this, along with our focus on delivering good client outcomes, which allows us to continue to attract clients and top talent.

“On behalf of the business, I’d like to welcome George and his team to DWF where their skills will augment and build upon our highly-skilled team of national labour and employment law experts.”
George is highly acclaimed in employment law and was recently shortlisted in the prestigious Best Lawyers in Australia 2021 list for Labour and Employment Law, as well as for Commercial Law. He will join the national Employment, Safety & Regulatory practice which is headed by Matthew Smith.

He is often asked to represent clients in high profile litigation and regularly advises clients in restraints of trade disputes, bullying and discrimination, industrial relations and equal opportunity matters.

George offers industry-specific knowledge in various sectors including sporting, professional services, manufacturing and hospitality. In addition to employment law, he has extensive experience in dispute resolution, property and commercial law matters and is sought after for his negotiation skills.
