Quarles & Brady Adds Former State Representative Thomas Springer to Its Real Estate Group

The national law firm of Quarles & Brady LLP today announced that Thomas J. Springer has joined the firm’s Real Estate Practice Group in the role as Partner in its Madison office.

Springer’s practice focuses on Federal Indian Law, representing tribes and tribal businesses on a variety of issues including economic development, infrastructure and transportation facilities, land acquisitions and exchanges, and fee to trust transfers. He has successfully negotiated tribal gaming compacts and intergovernmental agreements, appeared numerous times before federal advisory committees and has successfully advocated the tribal position on legislation at the state and federal levels. Springer has also represented state and national firms, industry trade organizations and professional associations from industries including healthcare, telecommunications, securities, insurance and more.

During Springer’s four terms as a Wisconsin state representative he served as chair of the Excise and Fees Committee, served four terms on the Assembly Health Committee, was elected to a leadership position within the Assembly Democratic Caucus, and led efforts on agricultural commodities exchange reform.

Springer is a member of the American Bar Association and the Association of Wisconsin Lobbyists. He received his Bachelor of Science in psychology and political science from University of Wisconsin-Madison and his Doctor of Law from University of Wisconsin Law School.
