Paul Hastings Adds Leading Employment Law Partner, Further Bolstering Top-Ranked Labor and Employment Practice

Paul Hastings, a leading global law firm, announced today that leading labor and employment lawyer Jeffrey Webb has joined the firm as a partner, based in Los Angeles. His arrival further bolsters the firm’s top-ranked Labor and Employment practice that is ranked Band 1 in Chambers USA, and continues Paul Hastings’ strong lateral growth in key practices across the firm’s global platform. Webb comes to the firm from the Boston office of Ropes & Gray LLP.

“The current global pandemic has reinforced the importance of employment law advice for our clients around the world,” said Seth Zachary, chairman of Paul Hastings. “Now more than ever, our clients are coming to us for advice on navigating workforce challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, and we expect that to continue even as the crisis abates.”

“Paul Hastings has been a leader in labor and employment law for decades,” said Webb. “Considering the momentum of the firm, its entrepreneurial spirit and collegial culture, there’s no better platform for me to develop my practice.”

Webb’s practice specialties includes class actions, collective actions, and representative actions involving wage and hour, discrimination, WARN Act, and ERISA claims; disputes with highly compensated executives; trade secret, restrictive covenant, and employee mobility claims; and whistleblower actions under Dodd Frank, the False Claims Act, and other statutes.

In addition to his time in private practice, Webb brings experience as both a senior government regulator and a senior in-house counsel. During his years of public service, Jeff led teams of prosecutors and civil enforcement attorneys in Massachusetts who were responsible for ensuring compliance with employment laws. As Vice President of Legal Affairs for Fox Entertainment Group, he advised Fox executives, managed outside counsel, and headed up a team of in-house lawyers who litigated employment cases filed against the company’s film, television, and sports subsidiaries.

The addition of Webb continues Paul Hastings’ strong lateral growth across its global platform. Over the past year, the firm has welcomed more than two dozen partners, including Privacy and Cybersecurity partner Aaron Charfoos in Chicago; Securities and Capital Markets partner Christopher Austin in New York; Entertainment and Media Litigation partner Steven Marenberg in Century City; Investigations and White Collar Defense partners Tom Best, Matt Herrington and Jonathan Drimmer in Washington, D.C. and Shaun Wu in Hong Kong; and Antitrust and Competition partner Camille Paulhac and Investigations and White Collar Defense managing director Nicola Bonucci in Paris.

Ranked in Band 1 for Labor and Employment Law in Chambers USA, Paul Hastings is recognized as one of the world’s best employment law firms, excelling in defending our clients against complicated wage and hour claims, government agency investigations, individual and systematic discrimination claims, and labor disputes and negotiations.

At Paul Hastings, our purpose is clear — to help our clients and people navigate new paths to growth. With a strong presence throughout Asia, Europe, Latin America, and the U.S., Paul Hastings is recognized as one of the world’s most innovative global law firms.
