With Los Angeles in the midst of a massive wave of infrastructure megaprojects involving the 2028 Olympic Games, Am Law 100 law firm Cozen O’Connor today announced litigator Theresa Nolan — who brings extensive experience managing technically complex multi-party litigation involving major commercial and infrastructure projects — has joined its North American Construction Law Group. Nolan, who comes to the firm from Gowling WLG in Calgary, Alberta, joins Cozen O’Connor as a member and will work out of its Los Angeles office.
Nolan focuses her practice on representing developers, architects, engineers, contractors, and other construction-industry-related entities in disputes arising from major infrastructure and commercial developments. She advises and represents clients throughout the entire dispute life cycle — from early risk assessment and strategic planning through discovery, expert evidence, dispositive proceedings, settlement, and hearings.

Nolan’s background includes defending claims brought against construction professionals, including disputes involving breach of contract, torts, and privacy law matters; and advising on alternative dispute resolution matters, including private mediations, court-assisted judicial dispute resolution, and arbitrations. She’s also defended product liability claims involving utilities, oil and gas, advanced technology, food and agriculture, and other industries.

Originally from Ireland, Nolan worked for a large Fortune 100 company in its European headquarters before moving to Canada in 2013. As a dual licensed Canadian (Alberta) & U.S. (California) commercial litigator, her prior cross-border experience in Canada further expands Cozen O’Connor’s ability to serve clients whose businesses, projects, and commercial disputes extend beyond California and the United States.
