Sidley is pleased to announce that Arman Zadeh has joined the firm as a partner in the Investment Funds group in Los Angeles. He joins from Kirkland & Ellis LLP, where he was a partner in the firm’s Investment Funds practice group.
Mr. Zadeh’s practice focuses on the formation, structuring, and ongoing operation of private closed-end investment funds, working with clients ranging from emerging managers to established global sponsors. He advises fund sponsors on internal economic and governance matters, co-investment arrangements, and separately managed accounts, and brings deep experience advising on fund-related aspects of M&A transactions. His work spans the full spectrum of private fund formation, from first-time funds to large-scale institutional vehicles, making him a versatile and highly sought-after adviser in the private capital space.
“Building a best-in-class private equity funds practice has been a high priority for the firm, and Arman’s arrival is a meaningful reflection of that commitment,” said Brian Fahrney, Chair of Sidley’s Executive Committee and a member of the firm’s Management Committee. “Arman brings exactly the kind of sophisticated practice and deep sponsor relationships that make him a natural fit for our growth plans.”
“Arman’s arrival is a strategic addition to our Investment Funds practice and strengthens our ability to serve clients across the private capital lifecycle, on the West Coast and nationally,” said Mehdi Khodadad, global co-leader of the firm’s M&A and Private Equity group and a member of the firm’s Management Committee and Executive Committee. “Combined with our leading M&A and private equity practice, Arman’s addition further enhances the depth and reach of our private capital platform.”
Over the past two years, Sidley has continued the strategic expansion of its global Investment Funds practice with partner additions across key markets, including co-leader of the Private Equity Funds group Justin Solomon in Los Angeles; Ivana Rouse in Houston; a cross-sector team in New York consisting of Cliff Cone, Daniel Drabkin, and Michael Sabin; Ryan McNish and co-leader of the Private Equity Funds group John Muno in Chicago; a market-leading Private Funds team in London consisting of Ed Gander, Stephen Fox, and Peter Boulle; Mathew Eapen in Boston; and Shane Goudey in Palo Alto, who leads the firm’s Venture Capital fund formation practice.
