Locke Lord Welcomes Partner Daniel Peters in Los Angeles as Member of Corporate and Transactional Department

Daniel H. Peters has joined Locke Lord’s Los Angeles office as a Partner in the Corporate Practice, where his domestic and international M&A focus will help bolster the Firm’s California Corporate platform as well as contribute to the corporate team firm-wide. Peters is a seasoned international transactional attorney with extensive experience counseling strategic buyers and sellers in domestic and cross-border acquisitions, including both public and private target companies.

Peters’ strong M&A and general corporate background, as well as his experience handling inbound investments from Chinese companies into the United States, will complement Locke Lord’s expanding international network, which includes serving the global needs of clients from both its London and Hong Kong offices. His hiring follows last week’s announcement that Locke Lord expanded its Hong Kong office through association with a five-member team of experienced lawyers from Cheung & Lee, which has a strong corporate branch as well.

“Dan’s strong middle-market M&A practice will help develop and strengthen our Los Angeles and California offices, and, at the same time, add to our international corporate platform,” said Los Angeles Office Managing Partner Mitchell J. Popham. “We are committed to growing our corporate capabilities to meet client needs, and adding Dan to the team is a big step toward that goal.”

Previously, Peters was a partner with White & Case’s global M&A practice group in Los Angeles. He regularly advises clients involved in joint ventures, investments and other strategic and financial corporate transactions and has had significant experience handling bank and equipment finance transactions, representing both financial institutions and corporate borrowers.

Peters earned his law degree from the University of California at Berkeley School of Law, where he was a member of the Berkeley Technology Law Journal. He has an undergraduate degree in business administration from Loyola Marymount University. Peters oversaw local recruiting and associate professional development matters at his previous firm and successfully led several training and mentoring programs for associates.
