Bryan Cave Adds New Partner with Depth in International Trade

Kevin Lombardo has joined the international law firm Bryan Cave LLP as a partner in the firm’s Los Angeles office. Lombardo will practice with Bryan Cave’s International Trade Client Service Group.

“Kevin is a significant addition to our international trade team with a depth of experience in both export control and government contracts matters,” said Jennifer Jackson, managing partner of Bryan Cave’s Los Angeles office. “Our LA-based trade lawyers have the unique ability to advise clients on nearly all aspects of doing business internationally, from both the import and export perspective.”

Lombardo focuses his practice in international trade regulations and government contract law. He has more than a decade of experience handling matters involving the following international trade regulations: International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR); Export Administration Regulations (EAR); trade embargoes imposed by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC); Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA); regulations enforced by the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS); compliance with the Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) program; and anti-boycott regulations. With regard to these areas, Lombardo has conducted compliance audits, developed training programs and handled licensing issues in addition to investigating and resolving alleged violations.

In addition, Lombardo has experience in federal government contracting, including contract formation, compliance, disputes, claims, terminations and allegations of fraud. He has investigated, prepared and litigated numerous successful contract claims against the government. Lombardo counsels clients on government contract compliance issues and also manages internal investigations. He has defended cases brought under the False Claims Act (FCA), and helped manage litigation in several FCA cases, including representation of one of the defendants in Allison Engine Co. v. United States ex rel. Sanders, a qui tam case heard before the United States Supreme Court.

Lombardo graduated cum laude and Order of the Coif in 2001 from Loyola Law School and has a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Washington.
