Peter Mason Joins White & Case as a Partner in London

Global law firm White & Case LLP has expanded its Global Debt Finance Practice with the addition of Peter Mason as a partner in London. He joins White & Case from Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, where he was a senior associate, and brings more than ten years of experience.

“Our London debt finance team continues to experience strong demand from global clients across all its service offerings,” said White & Case partner Eric Leicht, head of the Firm’s Global Debt Finance Practice. “The arrival of a highly capable lawyer like Peter builds on the team’s existing strength as we continue to grow in the world’s second largest legal market to meet our clients’ needs.”

Peter advises sponsors, corporates, banks and other non-bank financial institutions and alternative capital providers on a variety of finance transactions including leveraged, investment-grade and real estate financings, refinancings and restructurings, with particular experience in acquisition financing using European and New York-style term loan B, bank/bond and direct lending/unitranche structures.

“Peter is an experienced lawyer with exceptional technical skills who will work closely with our private credit, bank and sponsor clients on their key, cross-border finance deals,” said White & Case partner Colin Harley, Regional Section Head, EMEA Banking. “He is an exciting addition to our London team who will further enhance the service we provide to our clients.”

White & Case partner Oliver Brettle, a member of the Firm’s global Executive Committee, said: “White & Case continues to build its capabilities in London. Since the start of 2023 the Firm has promoted ten London lawyers to partner and had four partners join us laterally in London: M&A partner Ian Ivory from BCLP, tax partner Jessica Kemp from Travers Smith, antitrust partner Michael Engel from Kirkland & Ellis and asset finance partner Mark Moody from Winston & Strawn.”
