Paul Hastings Grows Antitrust and Competition Offering in London with Addition of Jade-Alexandra Fearns as Partner

Signalling further growth for the firm, Paul Hastings LLP today announced that Jade-Alexandra Fearns has joined in London as a partner in its market-leading Antitrust and Competition practice. She specialises in helping clients navigate the increasingly complex antitrust and foreign investment landscape, including national security reviews, international sanctions and regulatory compliance issues. Fearns joins the firm Proskauer Rose in London.

Named a “competition expert” by Legal500, Jade is recognised for her work in multiple categories, including: EU and Competition; Trade; and WTO Anti-Dumping and Customs. Her practice covers a variety of sectors, including financial services, sport, banking, manufacturing, FMCG and telecommunications.

The addition of Jade to Paul Hastings builds on the continued cross-practice growth of the firm’s London office and follows a number of prominent lateral hires, including a premier 15-lawyer finance team led by partners Mo Nurmohamed, Ross Anderson, Karan Chopra and Rob Davidson; preeminent IP Litigation partner Jason Raeburn; Private Equity and M&A specialist Tom Cartwright; and Structured Finance partner Jason Brooks.

Jade’s arrival increases the breadth and depth of Paul Hastings’ antitrust and competition practice, particularly sports-related regulatory and disciplinary matters, and adds to the firm’s existing strength in Brussels, Paris and across the U.S. As vigorous antitrust and foreign investment related enforcement continues around the globe, Jade will play a vital role in the strategy and counsel that Paul Hastings can offer clients.

“The recent growth of the firm in London, the outstanding work and impressive international bench strength, together with the opportunity to spearhead the London antitrust and competition practice, were compelling factors in my move to Paul Hastings,” said Jade. “I look forward to working with my new colleagues and clients in London and beyond to expand this exciting practice.”

The London office had strong performance in 2021, increasing revenue by 41% on the back of strong demand in its Private Equity and M&A, Finance, Structured Credit, Securities & Capital Markets and Litigation practices.
