Latham & Watkins is pleased to announce that Sanjev Warna-kula-suriya has joined the firm’s London office as a partner in the Corporate Department. Warna-kula-suriya has more than 25 years’ experience advising private equity sponsors, hedge funds, commercial and investment banks and corporates on a broad range of innovative capital raising and investment transactions.
Widely-recognized as a leader in his field, Warna-kula-suriya has established an outstanding market reputation for advising clients across a wide range of asset classes and structures, including public and private debt, equity-linked and hybrid capital markets issues, securitisations, CMBS, cash and synthetic CLOs, OTC and exchange-traded derivatives and cross-border structured finance. He also has significant expertise in the sale and purchase of financial asset portfolios, distressed investments and restructurings and the establishment of alternative lending platforms and direct lending.

Warna-kula-suriya joins the firm from Slaughter and May in London. He studied law at King’s College, London University, graduating with a First Class LLB with Honours in 1986.
