K&L Gates Grows Litigation Team with Leading London Partner Hire

The London office of global law firm K&L Gates LLP has added Clarissa Coleman as a partner in its litigation practice. She joins K&L Gates from Addleshaw Goddard.

With extensive experience in complex, high-value litigation and arbitration matters, Coleman represents corporates and high-net-worth individuals on regulatory investigations and claims relating to private equity structures, fee agreements, shareholder agreements, and failed joint ventures. In 2012, she was seconded to a FTSE 100 mining company for seven months as deputy general counsel to manage a Serious Fraud Office (SFO) investigation. Prior to Addleshaw Goddard, Coleman headed the litigation team at Consensus Business Group for investor and property tycoon Vincent Tchenguiz, and was responsible for coordinating the Group’s response to an SFO dawn raid and the related investigation and judicial review applications.

Tony Griffiths, administrative partner of K&L Gates’ London office, stated: “Clarissa’s experience in high-stakes litigation and arbitration both for corporates and high-net-worth individuals adds further strength to our successful disputes team. We are delighted to have her on board.”

Coleman commented: “I am very excited to be joining the K&L Gates team with its focus on providing harmonized legal advice across the many critical areas of risk that affect domestic and international organizations. I believe that my experience will further enhance K&L Gates’ ability to support client needs.”

With a broad range of experiences that allow them to navigate clients through the most difficult of challenges, the firm’s London lawyers have handled numerous investigations and disputes involving a wide variety of topics and issues on behalf of both corporations and individuals. Coleman is the third new partner to join K&L Gates’ London office in 2017, following the recent addition of leading aviation lawyers Philip Perrotta and Sidanth Rajagopal.
