Eversheds Sutherland Continues Strategic Scale Up of its Global Privacy & Cybersecurity Practice With Further Partner Hire

Karishma joins the global law firm’s London office from A&O Shearman, bringing with her a wealth of experience and a notable reputation in data protection and privacy law and AI. A highly regarded data and technology lawyer, Karishma provides strategic advice to clients across an array of sectors, including financial services and automotive.

Her knowledge and experience spans a comprehensive range of privacy and commercial technology matters including product counselling, data ethics, compliance, artificial intelligence, big data, adtech, augmented reality, and complex data sharing arrangements. She also advises on digital transformation, collaborations, outsourcing, and e-commerce arrangements, and IT/data aspects of M&A transactions.

Karishma’s accolades include recommendations by legal industry directories Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners. For the past two years, she has been ranked by Legal 500 as a ‘key lawyer’ for Fintech as well as a ‘key lawyer’ for Data Protection, Privacy and Cybersecurity in 2022 and 2025.

Additionally, Chambers and Partners’ latest UK edition notes “her ability to advise on a range of data protection matters and attract[s] a broad client base of high-profile companies”. She was also recognised in the Global Data Review’s ’40 under 40’ list (2021).

Karishma is a regular speaker on key developments in data ethics and data privacy matters at industry forums including Innovate Finance and the International Association of Privacy Professionals.

She currently serves as Co-Chair of the Privacy and Data Protection Group Committee at the SCL – a leading UK organisation for legal professionals in the technology sector.

Karishma’s appointment follows a number of recent hires to Eversheds Sutherland’s privacy and cyber security capabilities including Partners Maarten Stassen in Benelux and Caroline Lyannaz in Paris. Partner Richard Chudzynski also joined the firm’s consulting and alternative legal and compliance services practice, Konexo, in the Middle East.
