Dentons, the global law firm, today named prominent international arbitration lawyer Meriam Alrashid as a partner. After eight years of practice in London, she will be resident in Dentons’ New York, bolstering the Firm’s award winning international arbitration team and expanding its capabilities to counsel clients in complex disputes across key geographic markets. Alrashid will continue to maintain a strong presence in London.
Alrashid’s practice focuses on international investment, commercial arbitration and risk management, covering various industry sectors across the globe including infrastructure, oil and gas, mineral resources, hospitality and real estate. She has served as counsel in international disputes and transactions involving parties from nearly 20 countries across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, Africa and North America.

Alrashid participates in arbitrations before the International Centre for Dispute Resolution (ICDR), London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL), International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), and the International Centre for the Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID). She has led numerous significant cases, often involving actions for foreign investors relating to misappropriation of assets under bilateral investment treaties and the Agreement for Promotion Protection and Guarantee of Investments of the Organization of Islamic Conference. Alrashid is currently serving on a panel of arbitrators for the American International Commercial Arbitration Court.
Alrashid earned her JD from Loyola Law School, her LLM from The George Washington University Law School, and her BA from the University of California, Irvine.
