Cooley Strengthens Global Tax Practice

Cooley is adding to its tax practice with the arrival of partner David Wilson. Wilson is based in London and was formerly at Davis Polk.

“David’s corporate tax experience will be a great asset for our clients and for the firm, particularly in cross-border deals,” said Justin Stock, UK managing partner of Cooley. “His reputation is stellar and we are eager to add his capabilities into our already robust transactional practice.”

Wilson advises on a broad spectrum of UK and cross-border tax matters, including public and private mergers, acquisitions, spin-offs and reorganizations. He has extensive experience with corporate finance transactions, including issuances of debt, equity and hybrid instruments into US, UK and other capital markets.

“There’s an immensely talented tax group here at Cooley that works on complex, high-profile matters every day,” said Wilson. “I look forward to leveraging my experience to help our clients execute deals around the globe.”

Wilson received his law degree from Jesus College at the University of Oxford.

In December, Legal Week magazine recognized Cooley as London Office of the Year at the annual British Legal Awards. Cooley’s London office has built out robust practices, including in corporate/M&A, finance, venture capital & private equity, capital markets, technology transactions, insurance, litigation, IP, product compliance & liability, white collar crime, tax, employment, competition, and cyber, data and privacy, among others.
