Bird & Bird strengthens Data Protection practice with the appointment of James Mullock

Bird & Bird today welcomes leading data protection and cyber risk lawyer James Mullock as partner in its International Privacy & Data Protection Group.

Based in London, James joins from Osborne Clarke where he spent the last 19 years. James joins at a period of immense growth for the Bird & Bird data protection team, a result of the development in the information economy, the increase in data regulation and risk, and the firm’s leading reputation in this field.

His practice is a mix of data protection, cyber law and more general commercial work, including outsourcing. With previous clients spread across the Tech & Comms, Financial Services. Retail and Energy and Utilities sectors, James’ practice at Bird & Bird will continue to be mixed, albeit with a strengthened data protection focus.

James also has a strong knowledge of the Indian market, having helped set up and run Osborne Clarke’s Indian Desk and having represented a number of Indian technology and outsourcing companies in relation to their operations in Europe. At Bird & Bird, James will continue this work, tapping into the firm’s India desk and jointly developing work across the firm’s 27 global offices.
