Weil is advising Intel Corporation in its definitive agreement to acquire Altera Corporation in an all-cash transaction valued at approximately $16.7 billion. The deal will integrate Intel’s leading-edge products and manufacturing process with Altera’s field-programmable gate array technology, enabling new classes of products in the data center and Internet of Things market segments. As part of the transaction, Altera will become an Intel business unit to facilitate continuity of existing and new customer sales and support. The deal is subject to customary closing conditions.
