Holland & Knight has added a group of 12 lawyers to its Charlotte office. The team, which includes Partners Jeff Lee, David Iacuzio, Joseph Barnette, Mark Arinci and Christopher Boothe, focuses on real estate development and finance. The team also includes Senior Counsels Frank Coman and Mark Carlson; Associates Jill Bustamante, Sarah Hartsfield, Jesse Roisin and Mary Ritten; and contract attorney Craig Macauley. Honigman Strengthens its IP Practice in Grand Rapids

Honigman announced today that Weber Hsiao has joined the firm as a senior attorney in its Intellectual Property department and Patent practice group in the firm’s Grand Rapids office. His arrival follows the recent additions of IP partners Tim Flory and Peter Cummings, who joined the firm earlier this year.

Hsiao advises clients on a full range of IP matters, including IP protection and IP disputes, and counsels clients on IP due diligence in M&A transactions. He joins Honigman from Brown Rudnick LLP’s Boston office, where he focused his practice on medical and high-tech inventions.

Brendan M. Dunn, Former McConnell Policy Advisor, to Join Akin Gump

Akin Gump is pleased to announce that Brendan M. Dunn, formerly policy advisor and counsel to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY), will join Akin Gump as a partner in its public law and policy practice. Mr. Dunn, who served as chief advisor to Majority Leader McConnell and the Senate GOP leadership on tax, trade, financial services and pension matters before Congress, was the key staff architect of the successful effort to secure the passage last year of the historic Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.
