Global law firm Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner (BCLP) has expanded its Data Privacy & Cyber Security Practice with the hire of Geraldine Scali, who joins the firm Sept. 14 as a partner in the London office. Scali joins from Sidley Austin, where she advised international clients on data protection, privacy and information security including GDPR compliance, cybersecurity and security breach responses.

Clark Hill PLC has announced the addition of Randolf Katz as a Member in its Corporate Law practice, resident in the firm’s Los Angeles office. Katz is a business attorney, who acts as outside general counsel and special securities counsel to U.S. and international public and private companies in corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate governance matters, as well as in certain regulatory enforcement proceedings. Mr. Katz previously practiced with Baker & Hostetler LLP in Costa Mesa.
King & Spalding today announced that corporate lawyers Heath Trisdale and Michael Hamilton have joined the firm as partners in its Corporate, Finance and Investments (CFI) practice group in the Houston office. Both partners were previously at Baker McKenzie and will work closely with Jonathan Newton, who joined King & Spalding in August from the same firm.

Califano focuses on litigation, regulatory law, compliance, privacy and information security, and is resident in the Washington, DC, office. Previously, Califano served for seven years as head of litigation at American Express, where he oversaw the defense of a range of consumer, class action and commercial claims, performed complex investigations around the globe and defended the company’s business model, including playing a central role in card fee antitrust litigation and internal investigations.

Mayhew joins McGuireWoods from DLA Piper, where she was a senior finance lawyer. She previously was legal counsel at NatWest, supporting the bank’s leveraged finance business, and was an associate for six years at Simpson Thacher.
International law firm Bird & Bird today expands its Tech & Comms group with the appointment of partner Jan Ussing Andersen in Copenhagen. Jan has more than 15 years’ experience and joins from the TMT group of Kromann Reumert, one of the largest TMT practice groups in the Nordics.
King & Spalding has added prominent energy lawyers Anthony Patten and Lachlan Clancy as partners in its Corporate, Finance and Investments (CFI) Practice Group in Singapore. Clancy, who will join the office later in the month, is scheduled to relocate to the firm’s Tokyo branch in due course. Patten and Clancy were most recently at Shearman & Sterling, where Patten was a partner and Co-Head of the firm’s Oil and Gas Group.
O’Melveny announced today that leading Washington, DC litigator Jeffrey Gordon has joined the firm as a partner in the General Litigation Practice. Gordon was previously a senior attorney in the litigation practice of Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP.
