Reed Smith today announced that restructuring and bankruptcy lawyer Omar J. Alaniz has joined the firm as a partner in its Financial Industry Group in Dallas, marking a significant addition to the firm’s bankruptcy capabilities throughout Texas. Alaniz, previously a partner at Baker Botts, will be joining a dynamic team of bankruptcy professionals representing debtors, creditors, lenders and other stakeholders in many of the most notable filings in the country, including those in sectors including energy, retail, and health and fitness. While based in Dallas, Alaniz will also be spending a considerable amount of time in the firm’s Houston office.
