Lewis Brisbois is pleased to welcome John Heilman to its Tampa office as a partner in its General Liability Practice. Mr. Heilman focuses his practice in the areas of civil litigation and personal injury protection (PIP) defense. He brings to Lewis Brisbois extensive experience defending some of the largest PIP carriers in the country and managing state-wide defense portfolios in Florida. In addition, Mr. Heilman has defended campgrounds and auto/recreational vehicle dealers in injury and property damage claims. Before joining the firm, Heilman was an Insurance Defense Lititgation Shareholder at Marshall, Dennehey, Warner, Coleman & Goggin.

Former Senior FCC Official Matthew Berry Joins Akin Gump

Berry, former Chief of Staff and General Counsel at the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), has joined Akin Gump as a partner in the communications and information technology section of its regulatory practice. Mr. Berry, who served as Chief of Staff under FCC Chairman Ajit Pai, brings to the firm more than 12 years of experience at the FCC handling a wide range of policy and legal issues, with a particular focus on those impacting the broadcast and cable industries.
