Perkins Coie today announced the opening of a new San Diego office.  With four partners joining from Paul Hastings and Fish & Richardson, the office will focus initially on intellectual property matters.  The opening continues the strong pattern of growth which Perkins Coie has shown in recent years.

Fish and Richardson has added four lawyers to its Washington regulatory practice.  The group, led by Shirley Fujimoto, was previously at McDermott.  Also moving are Jeffrey Sheldon, David Rines, and Kevin Cookler.  The attorneys bring a wealth of experience in broadband, smart grids, and other communications issues.

Herbert Smith recently announced a increase in salary for first year (newly qualified) solicitors.  The increase brings annual salaries to £61,000.  Associates at higher experience levels see no change at this time.

Morgan Lewis has plans to launch an office in Wilmington, Del. It will official open on June 1^st . The office will be led by Colm Connolly, a former U.S. Attorney for Delaware. Connolly has been with Morgan Lewis since January 2009.

Pinsent Mason has lost a co-head of its London restructuring practice to Olswang. Prior to joining Pinsents in 2006, Seamas Gray practice at DLA Piper. This is a major snag for Olswang.
