Dickstein Shapiro has snagged two trademark partners for its New York office. Clark Lackert and Keith Sharkin have joined the firm from King & Spalding. Growing its IP practice has been one of Dickstein’s goals and it would appear as if it is succeeding.

Sonnenschein Takes on New Partner

Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal’s Washington office has been joined by Todd Daubert. Daubert joins the Washington office as a partner from Kelley Drye & Warren, where he had practiced for 13 years. He officially started on May 10th.

After 19 Years, Wilson Leaves Howard Rice

Howard Rice IP has lost a intellectual property Partner, who had been with the firm for 19 years. Bobbie Wilson, who was the head of Howard’s IP litigation practice, has joined Perkins Coie. She practice out of both the San Francisco and Menlo Park offices as an equity partner.

Venable has boosted its Los Angeles office with a hire from Pachulski Stang Ziehl & Jones LLP. Hamid R. Rafatjoo has joined the firm as a Bankruptcy partner. Rafatjoo specializes in insolvency and corporate restructurings.

Chadbourne & Parke Hires Two Major IP Players

Chadbourne & Parke has just hired two big names for its intellectual property practice. Stephen Manetta, previously the IP executive at General Electric is joining the firm after 15 years of experience in the field. Also joining is Rajappan (“BG”) Balagopal, formerally Walt Disney Company’s VP of Tech IP Management. Rajappan joins the Los Angeles office.

Lateral Energy Team

An energy team of five has just jumped ship from Paul Hastings Janofsky & Walker to Hunton & Williams. Leading the group are John Hawkins and Jeff Schroeder, Hunton’s new energy project finance co-heads. The remaining three partners are: Ellis Butler, Raj Pande and Laurence Skinner.

Latham and A&O Made Most Hires and Fires

Latham & Watkins and Allen & Overy (A&O) have reportedly made the most hires and firings over the span of the last two years. Since Janary 2008. Latham & Watkins has made 48 lateral hires and A&O made 46. Latham announced last February that the firm was going to make 190 associates redundant. By the end of April 2009, A&O had let 400 staff go.
