Nixon Peabody’s NY Hires a Lateral

Nixon Peabody is changing its luck: the firm has just made its first lateral hire in New York since it had quite a few partners leave the office. Charles Dietzgen has joined the firm from Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal. Dietzgen focuses his practice on corporate trustees.

A&O in Jakarta

Allen & Overy has launched an office in Jakarta via an association with Daniel Ginting Law Firm. The office will be manned by one partner and will be devoted to Islamic finance, capital markets and project finance.

Microsoft Takes one from Dechert

Microsoft has hired Dechert’s co-chairman of white-collar and securities litigation. David Howard joins the Microsoft team as deputy general counsel. He will be in charge of all litigation at the company, overseeing 459 lawyers in 44 countries.

Dacheng Laucnhes in Hong Kong

Dacheng Law Offices, China’s largest law firm, has just launched in Hong Kong to take advantage of the increase in finance and mergers. The office will have 15 partners by the end of 2010. Dacheng has 29 offices in Chinca, one in Los Angeles and one in Singapore.
