SNR Denton announced today that Heather Sibbison has joined the firm as a partner, Suzanne (Susi) Schaeffer and George Skibine have joined as counsel and Joshua Clause has joined as an associate, all in both the firm’s Indian Law and Tribal Representation and Public Policy and Regulations practices. They will reside in the firm’s Washington, DC, office.

Alston & Bird assisted Getinge AB in its pending $680 million acquisition of Atrium Medical Corporation.  The transaction is expected to further expand the cardiovascular medical device presence of Getinge, a global healthcare and life sciences company based in Sweden.  The transaction is subject to regulatory approvals and other customary conditions, but is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2011.

Orrick and LVN & Associates, a Vietnamese law firm with which Orrick is affiliated, advised JAKS Resources Berhad of Malaysia on a $2.25 billion thermal energy project in Vietnam. The project is one of the most significant infrastructure projects in Vietnam, and reflects the increasing volume intra-regional Asian infrastructure investment.

Baker & Daniels LLP and Faegre & Benson LLP today announced the combination of their law firms following a vote by partners in both organizations. The combined firm will begin operations as Faegre Baker Daniels on Jan. 1, 2012.

Mark Duedall has joined the international law firm Bryan Cave LLP as partner in the Atlanta office.  He practices with the firm’s Bankruptcy, Restructuring and Creditors’ Rights Group.  Duedall has represented various parties in restructuring matters, including acquirers, debtors, secured and mezzanine lenders, creditors committees, and other professional advisors.   He has also handled corporate matters such as acquisitions, dispositions, recapitalizations, and finance transactions.
