Littler Opens 53rd Office in the Mountain State

Littler Mendelson, P.C. (Littler), the nation’s largest employment and labor law firm representing management, has opened its 53rd office located in Morgantown, West Virginia, ranked last year by Forbes magazine as the #10 best small city in the nation to conduct business. Shareholder Nick Linn, a West Virginia native, has relocated from Littler’s Dallas office to return home to lead the firm’s efforts in the state. Linn, with more than 24 years of experience practicing employment law, will serve as office managing shareholder.

Global law firm White & Case LLP represented Credit Suisse Securities (USA) LLC and Santander Investment Securities Inc., as initial purchasers and joint bookrunners, in connection with the offer and sale of US$1.75 billion 5.750% senior notes due 2021 by Centrais Elétricas Brasileiras SA – Eletrobras, the Brazilian government-controlled electricity generation, transmission and distribution holding company and the largest electricity generation and transmission company in Brazil. Willkie Advises on $3.6 Billion Sale of Advanced Wireless Spectrum to Verizon Wireless

On December 2, SpectrumCo, LLC, a joint venture between Willkie client Comcast Corporation, Time Warner Cable and Bright House Networks, announced it has entered into an agreement to sell its 122 Advanced Wireless Services spectrum licenses covering 259 million points-of-presence (POPs) to Verizon Wireless for $3.6 billion. Willkie is assisting Comcast in obtaining approval from the Federal Communications Commission for the transaction. Comcast owns 63.6% of SpectrumCo and will receive approximately $2.3 billion from the sale. Time Warner Cable owns 31.2% and will receive approximately $1.1 billion, and Bright House Networks owns 5.3% of the company and will receive approximately $189 million.
