Alston & Bird Assists Getinge in $680 Million Atrium Acquisition

Alston & Bird assisted Getinge AB in its pending $680 million acquisition of Atrium Medical Corporation.  The transaction is expected to further expand the cardiovascular medical device presence of Getinge, a global healthcare and life sciences company based in Sweden.  The transaction is subject to regulatory approvals and other customary conditions, but is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2011.

Shearman & Sterling Advises on Senior Notes for American Tower Corporation

Shearman & Sterling represented the underwriters, led by RBS and other joint bookrunning managers Barclays Capital, BofA Merrill Lynch, Credit Agricole CIB and RBC Capital Markets, on the shelf takedown of $500 million of 5.900% Senior Notes due 2021 for American Tower Corporation. American Tower Corporation, a wireless and broadcast communications infrastructure company with a portfolio of over 38,000 communications sites, including wireless and broadcast towers located in the United States, Mexico, Brazil, and India, plans to use the proceeds to pay down debt and to finance acquisitions in the United States, Ghana, Colombia and South Africa.
