Hogan Lovells Negotiates $2 Billion Hospital Merger in Colorado

Hogan Lovells announced today that a team of its lawyers negotiated a $2 billion hospital merger in Colorado, one of the largest non-profit transactions in recent years. The new “University of Colorado Health” corporation will include Hogan Lovells client University of Colorado Hospital, along with Poudre Valley Hospital and Medical Center of the Rockies.

Davis Polk – Grupo Aval $600 Million Debut Global Offering

Davis Polk advised Grupo Aval Acciones y Valores S.A. in connection with its debut global offering of $600 million aggregate principal amount of 5.25% senior notes due 2017. The notes were issued by Grupo Aval’s wholly owned finance subsidiary, Grupo Aval Limited, and guaranteed by Grupo Aval. The notes were offered pursuant to Rule 144A and Regulation S under the United States Securities Act of 1933.

Gide Loyrette Nouel Acted as Legal Advisor on an Unprecedented Investment Project in Russian Dairy Cattle Husbandry and Plant Growing

The Moscow office of Gide Loyrette Nouel (GLN) acted as an advisor to Rusmolco, a Russian dairy company, on a major investment project between Rusmolco and the Singapore company Olam International, the largest in the field of dairy cattle husbandry and plant growing. The project involves Olam International investing in the share capital of Rusmolco. It is planned that before 2015, the aggregate investments will amount to about USD 400 million and will be used for forming a herd of 20,000 head and increasing the area of farmland to 106,000 ha. During the following three or four years, it is planned to double the production volume by way of increasing the herd to 50,000 head, and the area of farmland to 130,000 ha.
