Leading law firm Venable LLP announced today that three Real Estate partners – Mitch Evall and Andrew Schmerzler from Weissmann Wolff Bergman Coleman Grodin & Evall LLP (WWBCGE) and Valentin Aguilar II from Manatt, Phelps & Phillips LLP (Manatt) – have joined the firm to spearhead the growth of Venable’s newly established West Coast Real Estate Practice.  The experienced team joins Venable’s well-established national Real Estate Group, which includes more than 40 attorneys.

Husch Blackwell Represents Algonquin Power Co. in $888 Million Acquisition

Husch Blackwell represented Algonquin Power Co. (APCo), the renewable power generation subsidiary of Toronto-based Algonquin Power & Utilities Corp. (APUC), in an $888 million deal in which APCo will acquire a 480 megawatt portfolio of four wind projects in the United States from Spain’s Gamesa Corporación Tecnológica, S.A. (Gamesa). The deal was announced Friday, March 9.
