Hogan Lovells has hired Michael Conlon QC as its new Head of Indirect Tax in London. Michael will join Hogan Lovells International LLP in July 2012. He replaces former Head of Indirect Tax Greg Sinfield, who retired in January 2012 to take up an appointment as a Judge of the Upper Tribunal (Tax and Chancery).

Morgan Lewis today announced that Alexandre Bailly—a top litigator who has successfully handled disputes on behalf of multinational companies and French domestic clients across a number of sectors—will join the firm as a partner in its Litigation Practice, resident in Paris. He has had significant experience and success at another AmLaw 100 firm, having spent more than a dozen years at his previous firm’s Paris office. Further broadening its energy practice, King & Spalding has recruited James F. Bowe, Jr., as a partner, and William E. Rice as a counsel, in its Washington, D.C., office, the firm announced today. Bowe’s practice spans energy, regulatory, transactional and finance matters, including extensive experience before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. He regularly counsels energy project developers and natural gas pipeline and storage operators as well as oil and natural gas pipeline shippers and investors in energy projects. Rice handles matters for regulated companies in the electric, natural gas, oil pipeline and telecommunications industries. Both lawyers join King & Spalding from Dewey & LeBoeuf, where Bowe was a partner and Rice was a senior associate.
