Former Novartis Group General Counsel and Executive Committee member Thomas Werlen joined Quinn Emanuel in February as a partner. Thomas divides his time between London and Zurich. A truly international lawyer with a thorough background in both common and civil law, Thomas has practiced in the US, UK, Germany and Switzerland. Paul Hastings LLP, a leading global law firm, announced today that the firm represented Controladora Mabe, S.A. de C.V., a Mexican manufacturer and distributor of white line products, in connection with its successful offer to exchange its 6.500% Senior Guaranteed Notes due 2015 (“2015 Notes”) for its 7.875% Senior Guaranteed Notes due 2019 (“2019 Notes”) and the related consent solicitation. The transaction involved the issuance of approximately $130 million in aggregate principal amount of 2019 Notes in exchange for tendered 2015 Notes pursuant to a reopening of the series.
