King & Spalding announced today that Adam Baker has joined the firm’s Special Matters and Government Investigations team as a partner in the New York office. Baker most recently served as Assistant U.S. Attorney in the U.S. Attorney’s Office (USAO) in the District of New Jersey.
Vinson & Elkins announced today that Kara Kuritz has joined the firm as a partner in Washington, D.C., adding depth to the firm’s Antitrust Transactional practice in the areas of merger control and foreign filings. Kuritz joins the firm from Goodwin Procter.
Paul Hastings LLP announced today that leading commercial and securities litigator Jennifer Conn, who has represented some of the world’s largest businesses in bet-the-company litigation, has joined the firm as a partner. She will co-chair the firm’s securities litigation practice. Joining from Gibson Dunn, Conn is this year’s second lateral litigator in New York, following the addition of Joshua Berman from White & Case earlier this week.

McGuireWoods is expanding its nationally ranked public finance practice with the arrival of Baltimore partner Melissa Messina, an attorney and former investment banker with deep experience advising and structuring financings for senior living communities and representing lenders and underwriters in complex finance transactions. Messina joins McGuireWoods from the financial services firm HJ Sims, where she was a senior investment banker before assuming the role of executive vice president and associate general counsel.
