Morgan Lewis Advises Sprint Capital on Acquisition of Kazakh Potash Business

Kazakhstan Fertilisers Group Pte Ltd. (“Kazfert”), an investment vehicle managed by Hong Kong-based private equity firm Sprint Capital Management Limited, has entered into an agreement with Satimola Ltd to acquire Satbor LLP, a potash mining and exploration business in Kazakhstan. The deal value has not been disclosed and the closing of the transaction is subject to regulatory and certain other conditions.

Shearman & Sterling Overturns €1 Billion Seizure of LIA Assets in Italy

Shearman & Sterling has succeeded in obtaining an order from the Court of Appeals in Rome overturning the seizure of approximately €1 billion in assets held in Italy by the Libyan Investment Authority (“LIA”). The seizure was implemented by Italian judicial authorities in March 2012 following a request received from the International Criminal Court in the Hague.

Willkie – Paris Office Advises Icade on €1.55 Billion Club Deal

The firm recently advised French real estate company Icade on its €1.55 billion club deal with eight banks. The new financing arrangement, structured in three tranches, will enable Icade (a subsidiary of the Caisse des Dépôts) and Silic, a leading Paris business park owner, to meet general financing needs, optimize debt schedules and increase back-up lines, while reinforcing overall financial strength. The 3-tranche club deal comprises a medium-term credit line (€625 million, 5-year maturity); a revolving credit facility (€550 million, 3-year maturity) and a forward-start credit line (€375 million, 3-year maturity from 2014).
