Paul Hastings Represents Joint Global Coordinators and Joint Bookrunners in Chinalco Mining’s Hong Kong IPO

Paul Hastings, a leading global law firm, announced today that it represented Morgan Stanley and BNP Paribas as the joint global coordinators, together with CICC, Standard Chartered, CCBI and HSBC as the joint bookrunners in Chinalco Mining Corporation International’s (“Chinalco Mining”) US$398 million Hong Kong IPO and global offering on the Main Board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. Subject to the joint global coordinators exercising the over-allotment option, the deal size may be increased to up to approximately US$458 million.

Mayer Brown Represents Sinochem on $1.7 Billion Horizontal Wolfcamp Shale Transaction with Pioneer Natural Resources

Mayer Brown, a leading global law firm, announced today that it is representing Sinochem Petroleum USA LLC, a US subsidiary of the Beijing-based Sinochem Group, on a $1.7 billion transaction to purchase a 40% undivided interest in approximately 207,000 net oil and natural gas leasehold acres held by Pioneer Natural Resources Company in the highly prospective horizontal Wolfcamp shale play within the Spraberry Trend of the Midland Basin in west Texas. Under the agreement, Sinochem will acquire approximately 82,800 net acres of leasehold with development rights for all the horizontal Wolfcamp shale play and deeper horizons.
