Both Dr. Grzimek (43), who comes to the Firm from Hogan Lovells, and Dr. Guhn (37), who comes to the Firm from Field Fisher Waterhouse, will arrive on May 1. These appointments for Jones Day in Germany follow the arrival of Mergers & Acquisitions partner Dr. Wolfgang Hölters from Orrick, Hölters & Elsing, and the arrivals of Banking & Finance partners Annica Lindegren and Ulf Kreppel from White & Case and Claudia Leyendecker from Luther, along with their teams. LLC in an offering of $1,400,000,000 5.325% Step-up Callable Subordinated Notes due 2073 by Sompo Japan Insurance Inc. The notes were sold to international investors outside of Japan in reliance on Rule 144A and Regulation S. The notes are listed on the Singapore Stock Exchange.

Proceeds of a drawing under the facility were used at closing to finance in part the $16.7 billion acquisition by Comcast Corporation of General Electric Company’s remaining 49% common equity interest in NBCUniversal, LLC. The transactions also resulted in the incorporation of NBCUniversal Media, LLC into Comcast’s existing cross-guarantee structure, pursuant to which Comcast Corporation and certain of its cable holding companies now guarantee the acquisition financing facility and NBCUniversal Media, LLC’s $11 billion of public debt securities and NBCUniversal Media, LLC guarantees Comcast Corporation’s $6.25 billion revolving credit facility and Comcast Corporation and such cable holding companies’ $30 billion of public debt securities.
