O’Melveny Represents PT Bhakti Investama Tbk in US$365 Million Senior Note Offering

O’Melveny & Myers LLP has represented Indonesian-listed investment company PT Bhakti Investama Tbk as guarantor in connection with its offering of US$365 million of 5.875% senior secured notes due 2018 through its wholly-owned Singapore subsidiary Ottawa Holdings Pte. Ltd. Deutsche Bank acted as sole bookrunner and lead manager for the high yield note offering, which was sold to institutional investors in Asia, Europe, and the United States under Rule 144A and Regulation S. The notes are listed in Singapore on the SGX-ST.

Former Missouri Public Service Commission Chairman Kevin Gunn Joins Polsinelli’s Energy Group

Polsinelli welcomes Kevin D. Gunn, the former Chairman of the Missouri Public Service Commission, to the firm’s Energy Practice as shareholder. Gunn will practice in the firm’s St. Louis office. As Chairman of the Missouri Public Service Commission, he oversaw the regulation of all investor–owned utilities in the state, ensuring ratepayers received safe, adequate and reliable utility service at reasonable rates. In addition to his energy experience, Gunn brings public policy acumen to Polsinelli having served as chief of staff to Representative Richard Gephardt from January 2003 until the congressman’s retirement in 2005.

Paul, Weiss client The Carlyle Group, together with other investors, successfully took private Focus Media for $3.7 billion in the largest-ever going-private deal by a Chinese company. The Carlyle Group invested in Focus Media, China’s largest lifestyle-targeted interactive digital media network, through its Asia Partners III fund alongside FountainVest, CITIC Capital, China Everbright, Nanchun Jiang and Fosun International Limited.
