Latham & Watkins advised the Joint Lead Managers, BNP Paribas, Citibank, HSBC, Mitsubishi UFJ Securities, National Bank of Abu Dhabi and Standard Chartered Bank, the Co-Manager, Mizuho Securities, and Bond Trustee, Citibank, on Ruwais Power Company’s issuance of US$825 million Senior Secured 6.0% Bonds due 2036. The issuance closed on 6 August 2013 and was very well-received by investors.

Milbank – Shuweihat S2 IWPP – US$825 Million Bond Refinancing

The partial refinancing of JBIC and commercial banks as existing creditors to the US$2.3 billion Shuweihat S2 independent water and power project closed on 6 August 2013.  Ruwais Power Company PJSC (sponsored indirectly by TAQA, GDF Suez, Marubeni, Osaka Gas and ADWEA) issued US$825 million in project bonds (with a 6% yield) and applied such proceeds towards the refinancing (among other purposes).

Simpson Thacher Represents Underwriters in $3 Billion Note Offering by Halliburton Company

The Firm represented the underwriters led by Citigroup Global Markets, Inc., Deutsche Bank Securities Inc., HSBC Securities (USA) Inc. and RBS Securities Inc. in connection with a registered offering by Halliburton Company of an aggregate of $3 billion principal amount of new senior notes.  The offering consisted of notes of four separate tranches, $600 million principal amount of 1.0% Senior Notes due 2016, $400 million principal amount of 2% Senior Notes due 2018, $1.1 billion principal amount of 3.5% Senior Notes due 2023 and $900 million principal amount of 4.75% Senior Notes due 2043.

Simpson Thacher Represents Initial Purchasers in US$750 Million Sovereign Debt Offering by the Government of Bermuda

The Firm represented Barclays Capital Inc., J.P.
