Davis Polk advised Barclays Capital Inc. as the underwriter in connection with an SEC-registered block trade of 16,500,000 ordinary shares of LyondellBasell Industries N.V. by funds affiliated with Apollo Management Holdings, L.P. The net proceeds of the offering to Apollo were approximately $1.1 billion. The ordinary shares are listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol “LYB.”

On August 6, Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. completed the sale of its North American Industrial Fund III portfolio to The Blackstone Group and ProLogis. Lehman had owned 80% of the portfolio, while San Francisco-based ProLogis owned the remaining 20%.

James Duffy, a highly experienced international arbitration lawyer, has been hired by K&L Gates.  The partner joins the NYC office.

The attorney specializes in multi-jurisdictional international disputes for banks, governements, and energy industry clients.  He joins from DLA Piper.
